APC’ll clinch Anambra in 2017 – Okorocha

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said that by 2017, the All Progressives Congress will take over Anambra State in a free and fair election.

He added that the entry of prominent Igbo sons like Orji Uzor Kalu, Ken Nnamani and others into the APC had boosted the chances of the ruling party in the region.

Okorocha, who spoke when he met with journalists at the Government House, Owerri, stated that the South-East geopolitical zone could not afford to be outside the APC in the current dispensation, especially when the Igbos were known for taking wise decisions.

The governor also said that his administration had started to pay the state’s civil servants their November and December salaries.

He disclosed that N16.2bn was on the ground to be used for pension and salary payment.

The governor further explained that following the agreement between pensioners and the government, pensioners from Grade Level 1 to Grade Level 6 would receive arrears of their pensions 100 per cent, while those on GL 7 and above would receive 40 per cent of the arrears.

Stating that the arrangement was to enable the government pay the arrears of pensions in the state, the governor put the pension bill of the state at N1.4bn monthly.
