Little Red Corvette is a synthpop song written and produced by American musician Prince, from his 1982 fifth studio album 1999.
It features backing vocals by Lisa Coleman and Dez d!ckerson, who also played the solo guitar.
The single, released on February 9, 1983, became his biggest hit at the time. It peaked at Number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, his first to reach the top 10 in the US.
In the UK, it reached Number 2 on the singles chart while entering the top ten in Canada as well as Australia.
Following Prince‘s death in April 2016, the song re-charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached Number 29 while also reaching Number 4 on the Hot Rock Songs chart.
Furthermore, Rolling Stone ranked the song at Number 108 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
