U Can’t Touch This is a pop rap song produced and recorded by American recording artist MC Hammer, from his 1990 third studio album Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em.

Hammer co-wrote the song with Rick James and Alonzo Miller.

After its release on January 13, 1990, the explosive success that followed suit led the track to be considered as the artist’s signature song and most successful single.

In the US, it peaked at Number 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and at Number 1 on both the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks as well as the Hot Black Singles chart.

It also reached Number 1 in 7 other countries including Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
