Send Down the Rain is a 1987 reggae song recorded by Nigerian reggae singer-songwriter Majek Fashek, for his debut solo studio album Prisoner of Conscience.
Fashek penned the song which appeared as the opening track on the album.
After Tabansi Records released the album, Fashek rose to become Nigeria’s top reggae artist after Send Down The Rain became the most popular song of the year, and in 1989 he won six PMAN awards including Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Reggae Artist of the Year.
All these served as pillars to his solo career after the disbandment of the group Jastix, which he formed with McRoy Gregg and Black Rice.
Savor the classic.
