Former Madison teacher Allison Marchese pleaded guilty Monday to criminal charges related to sexual misconduct with two teen male students in a deal that could send her to prison for three years, according to Courant.


Court records revealed that while a teacher at Daniel Hand High School, Marchese was accused of sending racy photos and improper texts to two teenage students and performing oral s*x on one of them in a classroom in 2014.


Court records said Marchese sent winking and smiling emoticons and other flirtations and sexual hints through Instagram as well as a “selfie”of Marchese “dressed in only thong style underwear with her breast covered and her midriff exposed.” One message said that the teacher “would do anything [the student] told her to do as long as he was going to talk to her,” the arrest warrant affidavit said.

The younger student had a relationship with Marchese that began when he was 14, court records said. Atone point, Marchese “became very forward and wrote things such as she could not concentrate during class because he was so good-looking and she could not sleep at night because she was thinking about him,” the arrest warrant affidavit said.

Marchese would call the teen out of lunch and his free periods “to come to her room and talk with her,” the affidavit said.

The Instagram messaging continued in summer 2014 after the school year ended. The younger teen said that Marchese messaged him “nonstop” the first week of summer vacation, including long messages expressing her feelings toward him and trying to make him feel bad for not responding, the affidavit said.

He told police that he asked Marcheseto stop and that she did until two days before the start of the 2014 school year. In that message, she reportedly told him that he “broke her heart and betrayed her.”

The next day she apologized to him and said that she was drunk when she sent the message, according to the affidavit.

The older student, 17 at the time of the incidents, told police he received a provocative photo through Instagram and flirtatious texts on his cellphone from Marchese and in December 2014, the two kissed and had oral sex in a locked classroom, an arrest warrant affidavit said.

After the encounter, the student sent Instagram messages to Marchese saying that he was “freaking out.” He came up with a plan to blackmail Marchese, telling her that he would stay silent about their relationship if she gave him $200, the affidavit said.

The older student told police that he learned from the younger student that Marchese told her father about the blackmail attempt. He said she described her father as “abusive” and said he had spent time in jail and had Mafia ties who would make sure the older teen “would never play football again,” the affidavit said.

When interviewed by police, according to the affidavit, Marchese admitted that the “selfie” photograph was of her and said that she sent it to her husband at the time “and did not knowhow a student would have gotten it.”

Her former husband, Robert Marchese, a teacher at the high school, was granted entry into the family violence education program following his arrest on charges of disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call in January 2015, according to a family violence offense report.

The report said the couple, now divorced, was involved in a “verbal dispute … which became physical” and 911 was called, court records said.

Both teens are suing the town of Madison and the Madison Board of Education in separate claims that seek damages in excess of $15,000 for school officials’ alleged negligence in their handling of Marchese, who has since been fired.

The lawsuits, one filed in October 2015 and the other filed last month, accuse school officials of failing to prevent theinappropriate relationships Marchese had with the teens and not properly reporting that Marchese was in violation of Madison’s own reporting policies and procedures.
