Joe Nez X his Top Six - Baby You / Me Sweetie / Mona Come Back (Side B)
Trip is an LP by revered Nigerian highlife musician and composer Joe Nez and his band Top Six, released by Anodisc Records in 1977.
The Side A mostly got a reggae feel to it while the B side majorly has some la!d-back kinda groovy R&B tune.
This LP right here had an influence on most modern afro-highlife musicians, most significantly Flavour. You remember the Sexy Rosey lines “your waist 34, hips 44, you are 24” right? This is the origin.
Sadly, the artist died 2 years after this great piece of work.
Savour this masterpiece.
