Patience is an acoustic folk rock song by American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, from their 1988 second studio album G N’ R Lies.
Izzy Stradlin and Axl Rose wrote the song while the band and Mike Clink handled the production.
Their record label, Geffen Records, released the track as a single in April 1989. It subsequently peaked at Number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and at Number 10.
The single’s highest peak was at Number 2 in Ireland.
Rumor has it that the motivation for the track is generally the troublesome relationship between Axl Rose and his now ex-wife Erin Everly.
Tidbit: The song is played using three acoustic guitars and was recorded in a single session by producer Mike Clink.
