Plantain Boy is the opening track on Gift & Grace, the 2008 second studio album by Nigerian artist Timaya.
The afro pop song was written by the artist, and who else to do justice to the producer other than the prolific K-Solo?
Just like God You Are Too Much, Timaya talks about the hardship he faced before the arrival of his breakthrough, having to hawk plantain on the streets as some point.
He also encourages the audience to never give up on hope.
After its release as the lead single from the album in mid-2008, it rose to become a popular street anthem, promoting the album sales.
