Bohemian Rhapsody is a progressive rock song recorded by English rock band Queen, for their 1975 fourth studio album A Night at the Opera.

The band’s lead vocalist Freddie Mercury wrote the song while Roy Thomas Baker produced it with the band.

It was released as a single on October 31, 1975, becoming a colossal commercial success though it was met with mixed critical reactions.

At six minutes long, the song is reportedly the most expensive single ever made as at the time of its release, although the exact cost of production cannot be determined.

The single peaked at Number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the UK Singles chart. It however reached number one again in when the same version was re-released following Mercury’s death.

It also reached the top of the charts in several other countries as well, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, and The Netherlands,

Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the best-selling singles of all time and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004.
