If I Had a Heart is a neofolk dark-ambient song which was written, produced and recorded by Swedish recording artist Fever Ray, from her 2009 solo self-titled debut studio album.

Rabid Records released the track as the lead single from the album on December 15, 2008 and it marked her debut as a solo artist after parting with her previous band, The Knife.

The single received worldwide acclaim from music critics, most of who opined it to be among the artist’s best work.

If I Had a Heart is popularly known as the opening credits sequence of the successful television series Vikings. It has also appeared in episodes of Breaking Bad, The Following, The Originals, Black Sails, Misfits, Person of Interest, Longmire, Born to Kill and Wentworth.
