What Is Love is a Eurodance song recorded by Trinidadian-German Eurodance artist Haddaway, for his 1993 debut studio album, The Album.

It was written and produced by Dee Dee Halligan and Junior Torello.

The track was released officially in Europe on May 8, 1993 and subsequently in the US in August of 1993.

It topped charts in almost all the countries except New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Sweden and the UK, where it still was a hit.

The song is unique for its refrain “What is love? Baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me… no more”.

In 2010, American rapper Eminem sampled the song for his single No Love which features fellow rapper Lil Wayne, from his seventh studio album, Recovery.
