I’ve Got You Babe is a reggae song by South African reggae musician Lucky Dube, from his 1988 album Slave.

The song was originally written by Sonny Bono and first recorded by American pop music duo Sonny & Cher in 1965, titled “I Got You Babe“. In 1985, an infamous cover version of the song was also recorded by British reggae/pop band UB40, which features American singer Chrissie Hynde.

Dube’s reggae version has come to be loved by fans across the world.
