I’m So Paid is an R&B hip hop song which is the second single from Senegalese-American artist Akon‘s 2008 third studio album, Freedom.
The track features additional vocals from Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy, and was produced by Detail.
The song was released as a single on October 4, 2008 and was fairly successful on music charts worldwide.
In the lyrics, Akon makes reference to Olympic Athlete Usain Bolt in his verse, “Quicker than Usain Bolt the fastest thing running”. Fellow Olympian Michael Phelps is also referenced in Jeezy’s verse, “Gold chains round my neck just like Michael Phelps”.
The RIAA has certified the single platinum for selling more than a million copies in the US.
