It was written and produced by Wyclef Jean and Jerry Duplessis.

The song was released as the fourth single from the album on July 3, 1999, and was hugely successful. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100, UK Singles chart and charts in Canada, Germany and 7 other countries. It has also been certified platinum in many of these countries.

A dance-remixed club version by American DJ, producer and remixer Jonathan Peters was also released.
