One Step at a Time is an R&B pop song recorded by American singer Jordin Sparks, from her 2007 self-titled debut album.

It was written by Lauren Evans, Mich Hansen and producers Robbie Nevil and Jonas Jeberg, who produced it with Cutfather.

Jive Records put it out as the third and final single from the album on June 10, 2008.

In the US, it peaked at Number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 making Sparks the only American Idol contestant ever to have her first four singles reach the Top 20.

The song appeared as the 13th track on the 29th edition of the US Now! series Now That’s What I Call Music! 29, along with So What, Disturbia, Forever and Whatever You Like.
