From American singer-songwriter Akon‘s debut studio album, Trouble (2004), comes Ghetto -the second single, released on December 21, 2004.

The theme of the conscious hip hop song centers on the ordeal and suffering undergone by the residents of the poor, inner-city suburbs. The single peaked at number ninety two (92) on the Billboard Hot 100.

Ghetto has an International Remix which features additional rap verses from Ali B and Yes-R, and a US Remix which features additional vocals from 2Pac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.
