Oliseh, Eguavoen, Amuneke linked to Super Eagles job as Peseiro quits

At least four former Nigeria internationals have been linked with the national team job, after Jose Peseiro confirmed he is leaving on Friday.

Peseiro, in a statement posted on social media, bid farewell to the role days after he said he was taking a break.

Waploaded reports that Finidi George, who worked with the Portuguese at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as an assistant, is one of those being considered as a replacement, even on a temporary basis.

The others are Emmanuel Amuneke, who is a successful U17 coach and also handled the Tanzania national.

Augustine Eguavoen, the current Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, could return for a fourth stint as coach.

Also in the frame is former captain and coach of the Eagles, Sunday Oliseh.
